Reclamation of Talented Pakistanis working abroad (Reverse Brain Drain)


The higher education commission has recently launched a program specially designed for supporting faculty and research development in the discipline of agriculture, Engineering or related disciplines.

This development project is of three years duration (i.e 2003-2006 period) and is meant for inviting accomplished expatriate academicians and engineers to assist in teaching and research activities at the agriculture and engineering public-sector universities and Degree-Awarding Institutions (DAIs). The visiting faculty will be engaged for one to two months period to undertake teaching assignments, assist in laboratory development, to conduct collaborative research at the host laboratory, to coach young faculty or graduate students in advanced research techniques, or to provide expertise in developing curriculum in new disciplines intended to be introduced at your institution. The visiting faculty needs to be a Ph. D with excellent track record of teaching and research in their field of specialization.

The HEC will bear the entire cost of the visiting faculty by way for their return economy air-ticket and Rs. 100,000 as one-time remuneration for their service. The host University will be granted a monthly sum of Rs.24,000/- for arranging boarding and lodging facility for the Visiting Faculty. HEC expect the Host University to provide pick-and drop facility and other necessary routine expenses needed for their assignment from their own resources.

HEC is inviting applications form Pakistani expatriates involved in cutting-edge research at educational institutions or R&D organizations for the placement at any of the list Engineering and Agriculture public sector university /DAIs needing that expertise. The applicant may indicate three places of their choice for Placement.

Though there are no deadlines for sending applications, but the decisions will be made at discrete dates with enough time to selected candidates to make necessary preparatory arrangements.
