US, Pak Discuss Peaceful Use Of N-Technology
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan : May 17 (PNS) - Pakistan and the United States have agreed to enhance cooperation in the peaceful use of civilian nuclear technology and export controls. The agreement was reached during a meeting between U.S. under-Secretary Kenneth Juster and additional secretary of the foreign ministry Tariq Usman Haider in Islamabad on Sunday.
Under-Secretary Juster appreciated Pakistans efforts to streamline and strengthen its export control regime, and welcomed the approval of new export control legislation by the cabinet. Mr Usman Haider underlined the need to explore cooperation in civilian space technology between the two countries.
The two sides also agreed on sustained bilateral efforts for creating an enabling environment for the growth of international trade.
